
Business Intelligence has found its way to consumer movie prediction software. I was interested to see this article on the
CIO website even though they are trying to make a connection between IT and Hollywood.
Epagogix is a privately held UK firm specializing in artificial intelligence and brings together risk management, finance and operations. Will Smith's simple pattern matching worked ok when consumer sentiment was much higher. Trying to predict a successful movie now will need to take into account different attitudes consumers have about entertainment (read: no negative or sad story lines).
